This past June marked the completion of our first full year living in Redding California.
This June we also celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary.
We finished our first year in ministry school (BSSM),
And
this June
we managed to acquire a new business which is also a ministry!
Yep, it's been a really exciting and full year, and we'd love to catch you up on our journey.
Like to hear more of our story? Read On!
We came to Redding in June of 2023 to be a part of Bethel Church and to enroll in the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (or BSSM). As many of you know, prior to our coming here, we lived in Tacoma, Washington and served as part of the leadership team at The Rock Revival Center.
Early in 2023 we felt a strong message from the Lord that He was going to ‘uproot’ us from our home in Tacoma and move us to Redding California for a new season training in our lives. Jesus was showing us that we were to get ready to move, to sell our house and personal belongings and launch out on a new journey of following Him.
Jesus was showing us that we were to get ready to move, to sell our house and personal belongings and launch out on a new journey of following Him.
We sold our house in April of 2023 after the first weekend that we listed it on the market! We ended up purchasing a pickup truck and 30’ travel trailer to take with us on our new adventure.
While we were in Kona we met a lady, through a divine appointment, who really encouraged us that we were on the right track about moving to Redding. She ended up inviting us to her home group and asked Tammy to teach on any topic the Lord gave her, and the Holy Spirit did some powerful work to bring healing to relationships there. In another edition of our newsletter, we hope to tell you the whole amazing story.
We are so thankful for the leading of the Holy Spirit!!
In September of last year we started our First Year of the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM). We spent 9 months with a class of about 600 students from all over the world.
BSSM is an amazing program designed to raise up revivalists that can represent Jesus, His works and His Kingdom every were they go.
We were able to sit under the teaching and impartation from Bethel leaders, as well as a variety of powerful, influential guest speakers from all over the world. In addition to the bible and ministry training we received, we all participated in daily worship times together, led by a variety of Bethel worship leaders, including some of our own classmates.
All of the first year students were assigned to a revival group which consists of about 60 students. Each revival group has a revival group pastor and a handful of assistant pastors who are 3rd year BSSM students.
Revival Group was where we go to learn and experience God’s presence together in a more intimate group setting. We all really bonded together as a family and supported each other through the whole year.
Part of our BSSM training was being involved in what are called activations. This was were we got to practice what we had been learning about on a weekly basis. Our activation was with the Bethel Healing Rooms. Healing Rooms was one of our favorite times to be in fellowship with other believers, and see God move through us as we partnered with one another to see the ‘greater works’ done that Jesus spoke about. (see John 14:12)
We both got to see Jesus work through us as we prayed for people to receive physical and emotional healing; even deliverance from oppressive spirits. It is so amazing to see God back up His word, that those who believe Him will heal the sick, raise the dead and see people get delivered from demonic strongholds.
For us, our healing room activation was a time of greater yielding and surrendering to the ways of the Lord, trusting in Him to do His will and letting His word manifest in and through us. One of the things this season did was to show us His transformational love, and how He loves to restore, redeem and bring freedom to the souls of people.
One of the most impacting parts of school for us was the spring mission trips. We got to go to Kenya for 14 days!
Our mission was based at an organization called Heroes of the Nation. Heroes is dedicated to transform the lives of orphans and vulnerable children through restorative wellness, therapy and biblical discipleship to become heroes of the Nation of Kenya.
Several of our days there were spent on outreach in remote villages that surround the Nairobi area. We were able to show the love and compassion of Jesus as we delivered food, preached the gospel and watched God move powerfully as we prayed for people’s healing and freedom.
And yes, we saw giraffe, zebra, baboons, even warthogs roaming free out in the plains of Kenya.
We were blessed to be able to create lasting friendships with our team members as well as with the leaders and children at Heroes of the Nation. We both know that God is strategically connecting us to people in Kenya for the purpose of ‘making disciples of all nations’.
After our BSSM first year graduation in May, we took some time to catch up with family. Then once again God opened up a new opportunity for us to step into - purchasing a business in downtown Redding called:
One Heart Global Boutique
One Heart Global Boutique creates a marketplace for artisans and ministries worldwide to sell their handcrafted items. The products we sell are made by individuals who’ve been rescued from being trafficked, are widowed, or are individuals living in extreme poverty or in at-risk situations.
Shopping at One Heart Global Boutique allows you to ‘Purchase With Purpose’. The money you spend on beautiful handmade gifts and personal items will help set people free, support widows and their families, and lift at-risk individuals and families out of poverty through creating sustainable income.
Taking ownership of this business is just another step in the way that God has been leading us that started while we were living in Tacoma.
Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, Tammy started a business in 2022 called Ubben Created. It started out as a way for her to express her God-given creativity in decoration and design, through her skills in event coordination and creating beautiful personal products for people to purchase.
Her creations included floral designs, graphic design for signage, T-shirts, handmade gift bags, earrings, and more.
As we came down to Redding and began getting acquainted with the city visiting shops and restaurants, Tammy kept saying how she would like to have a storefront to market the products she was making.
In January 2024, Tammy answered an advertisement looking for volunteers who wanted to host a shift at One Heart Global Boutique in downtown Redding in exchange for a chance to sell her hand-made items out of their store.
Three months after she started volunteering, we were presented with an opportunity to purchase the business of One Heart. The previous owners, Rob and Mary-Elizabeth told us that they were preparing to enter a new season in their life and had been looking for a buyer for the store and they felt that we would be the right people to take over this business and build on what was started years ago by the original founder.
We prayed about this decision while we were on our missionary trip to Kenya, and even though this would be a financial stretch for us, we felt a strong call to step into the opportunity. Owning this business gave us a tangible way to go after a number of visions/dreams and prophetic words we’ve received concerning business and a ministry to those who have lost sight of their God-given identity. We get to partner with Jesus' work of setting people free, not just here, but to the nations of the world.

We’ve already had several ministry opportunities praying for customers in our store and for some of the homeless people in the downtown area. We know that God has planted us in downtown Redding to get involved with the business community and with people who live in, and visit Redding. We are also getting connected with other organizations in Redding who are fighting against human trafficking, domestic abuse and homelessness.
We invite you to partner with us in prayer as partner with Jesus to see strongholds crumble that the kingdom of darkness does not want torn down. We know that our God goes before, and is fully with those who are surrendered to Him!
